A typical day
For all of our students, there is no such thing as a typical day that they all undergo, because we pride ourselves in offering a bespoke plan that suits the global learning of an individual student. We make sure that we foster critical thinking through all lessons, and recognise them for the independent personalities that they are. For those who sign up for a package of subjects, we might have a day that begins with a gathering together in a small tutor group so that they can have a daily catchup with their tutor, share news, receive notices and celebrate individual and collective achievements as well as to practice teaching one another some of their recent learning gains. From there they will embark on a morning with 3 hour long connected time sessions: English, Maths, Science. Either as 1:1 or in small-groups based on age and ability. From these connected time sessions, they will be introduced to the continuation work through their guided time learning. After lunch, they embark on guided time learning, and can ask tutors questions about assignments, or review feedback recently received. On certain days of the week and key dates in term, there is an opportunity to gather as a whole school for a talk from a tutor or external speaker.
