Safeguarding

All of our live lessons are recorded for Safeguarding, child protection, and quality control purposes. Every Hyde Academy tutor has passed a rigorous selection and interview process and  enhanced DBS  (UK Disclosure and Barring Service Police) check. This is a statutory UK police check that reassures us that they are safe to work with children. Alongside this mandatory check, we have reference, ID and qualifications checks and all tutors have a quality review annually. All tutors sign up to our code of conduct staff agreement and have successfully undertaken our Safeguarding and Child-Protection Review Training.

All of our tutors have extensive experience in education, and especially in online tutoring. At Hyde we ensure that every tutors' teaching background demonstrates excellence and dedication to continuous learning. All Hyde Academy tutors receive comprehensive training from the leadership team. This training covers Hyde's pedagogy of learning, how to get the best out of students through online teaching, safe use of technology, and our safeguarding policy and procedures.

Should a tutor have any concerns, they always have the ability to end a class with immediate effect, delete any inappropriate content and remove a student from a class. Inappropriate language is blocked from the entire platform. Students are blocked from sharing contact details with one another and are unable to post personal information. We always encourage both tutors and students to report a concern to the Principal, who is our chief safeguarding officer.
